Crime Scene Investigation
On Halloween night, there was a woman, Rosaline Ingrid Poe, found dead behind Hebron Middle School. Blood was found under her upper body, with an unidentified white substance covering her body. In her purse, four items were found: a new gym membership card, a check written to her from a sweets shop, a receipt from the same shop for an order of Halloween cupcakes, a claim ticket from an all-night dry-cleaners to wash out a stain with a red-brown stain on it, and a photo of her friend Rosemary Woodhouse’s baby, Damian, and his caretaker Lillith. Frank and Stein’s “Body Works”, the gym, works in collaboration with the hospital to help the elderly, and both Frank and Stein were both at one point doctors forced to leave the hospital for questionable malpractices. They have a weird tendency to measure every part of their members’ bodies. Ms. Poe was in good shape, so we wonder why she joined this gym. Once known as Sweeney’s Sweets Shop, is now Sweeney's Pie Shop, after the owner, Mrs. Todd’s husband passed away making it a meat pie shop. Ms. Poe used to be the shops bookkeeper, who was recently fired after threatening to alert the police about a homeless man living behind the shop. At Vlad’s All-Night Dry Cleaning, the investigator found many articles of clothing with red stains, and there were oddly no mirrors anywhere. Ms. Poe had become increasingly obsessed with Baby Damian, whose mother died under mysterious circumstances shortly before the victim. His father was out of the picture, so Lillith took over the baby’s care, but nobody knows who’s paying her or who even hired her. Baby Damian was very strong and seems to look at you like understood what you were saying, and never laughed, cried, or smiled. All of these people are named suspects. There are a list of white substances that could involve each. The bakery could involve sugar, baking soda, flour, baking powder, citric acid, starch or salt. The gym could involve epsom salt, citric acid, chalk, or calcium chloride. The dry cleaner’s could involve baking soda, borax, washing soda, or starch. Damian and Lillith could involve dehydrated milk, talc, or starch. If all the properties of appearance, reaction with water, pH level, starch containment, and flammability of a chemical match up with the mysterious white substance found covering the victim’s body, the police will have their killer.
